The National Basketball Youth Mentorship Program (NBYMP) Foundation announced on Friday that it has partnered with HoopQueens for a new education fund.

The NBYMP Foundation is a registered charity in Canada that provides multiple layers of educational support and funding to youth for their current and future schooling. In partnership with professional athletes, youth sporting organizations and various colleges across Canada, the NBYMP Foundation strives to help youth meet their academic demands. The NBYMP Foundation is the charitable branch of the National Basketball Youth Mentorship Program.

HoopQueens is a non-profit organization that is changing the narrative of women’s basketball in Canada. Their mission is to provide personal & athletic development opportunities for Canadian pros, university, college, and prep school athletes (high school) across the nation.

The NBYMP Foundation will be teaming up with HoopQueens to create the “HoopQueens Education Fund,” which will assist female athletes who face financial barriers. This fund will create great educational opportunities for the female athletes.

“We couldn’t be more excited to partner with HoopQueens,” said Kevin Wilson, founder of the NBYMP. “Keesa and her phenomenal team have stayed true to their mission and have already changed the narrative of women’s basketball in Canada. It is only a matter of time before every serious Canadian female basketball athlete is aware of HoopQueens of utilizing their services.”

Donors can donate to the HoopQueens Education Fund through the NBYMP Foundation, and will receive an electronic charitable tax receipt from the NBYMP Foundation. Keeping in line with the charity’s purpose to advance education, both organizations will work to accomplish this mission through the education fund.

“Hoopqueens is very excited to be partnering with NBYMP,” said Nakissa (Keesa) Koomalsingh, founder of HoopQueens. “Our work together will be a true blessing as we are able to provide opportunities for youth and community members.  It is important for us to lead with collaboration over competition. Our priority will always be the current and future generations of female basketball players!”

Monetary donations and gifts of securities (stocks and mutual funds) can easily be accepted through the HoopQueens Education Fund. To safely donate to this fund, please visit www.thehoopqueens.com. For donations over $1000, please contact HoopQueens at [email protected].
